- Abnormal and Heavy Cargo Transportation
A Successful Transport from Dar es Salaam to Muleba Bukoba
Transporting oversized and heavy cargo across long distances is never a routine operation—it requires precision, expertise, and flawless coordination. Our recent project for KAD Investment Company is a perfect example of how complex logistics challenges can be turned into seamless executions.
The Challenge
The assignment involved transporting a massive cylindrical industrial vessel from Dar es Salaam to Muleba in the Kagera Region. Due to its size and weight, the cargo qualified as abnormal (out-of-gauge), demanding specialized equipment, careful route planning, and strict safety controls.
The Approach
Our team deployed a multi-axle low-bed trailer to distribute the heavy load safely, supported by mobile cranes for lifting and positioning. Every step—from loading to securing the vessel—was carried out with precision to ensure stability throughout the journey.
We also handled all critical logistics requirements, including:
- Route surveys and transport planning
- Permit acquisition from relevant authorities
- Escort arrangements for safe road movement
- Continuous safety monitoring during operations
The Execution
The operation began with controlled lifting using heavy-duty cranes, where the vessel was carefully placed onto saddles mounted on the trailer. Once secured with reinforced lashing systems, the cargo was prepared for its long journey inland.
The Result
The project was executed successfully, demonstrating our capability to manage complex, large-scale transport operations across Tanzania. From coastal loading zones to inland delivery points, our team ensures reliability, safety, and efficiency every step of the way.
Why It Matters
Projects like this highlight the importance of working with a logistics partner that understands the demands of abnormal cargo. With the right expertise and equipment, even the most challenging loads can be delivered safely and on time.
